HHW – Collected material will be handled by Plainwell Drug & Laboratory.
**St. Joseph County Residents Only**
Effective 3/16/2010: the following fees apply:
- Up to 100 pounds at no charge.
- $1.00/lb. for everything over 100 pounds
- Donations will be accepted and appreciated to help defray the cost of this service.
Materials Accepted:
Pool chemicals, garden pesticides, cleaners, old gas, auto batteries, oil based paints, stains, mercury thermometers, pharmaceutical needles (sharps), acids, and more. Look for signs such as danger, caution, combustible, etc.
Materials NOT accepted:
No explosives and radioactive materials
No waste oil (it can be recycled at auto parts stores)
No latex paint – it is not a hazard dried
Use kitty litter to absorb liquid before placing in trash
Electronics Recycling – Collected Materials will be handled by Valley City.
**Program offered to St. Joseph County residents and small businesses.
Accepted materials:
Personal computers, Telephones, Cell Phones, MP3 Players, DVD Players, UPS Battery Back-ups, Cables, Wires, Extension Cords, etc., Laptop Computers, Printers, Monitors (all sizes), Game Systems, Keyboards and mice, Network Equipment, Scanners, Cable Boxes, Digital Cameras, VCR’s, Stereos
***Due to the high cost of recycling televisions and monitors, there is a minimal charge:
TV’s (21″ and less): $10.00 fee
TV’s (larger than 21″): $15.00 fee
Computer monitors (any size) $5.00
(Payments accepted in cash or check – check should be made payable to Valley City)
Tire Recycling - Elk distributing Inc. will be collecting tires.
Cost/Tire:
Passenger/light truck: $1.00 fee
Semi/forklift: $3.00 fee
Tractors: $15.00 fee
Paper Recycling
Accepted Items:
cardboard, newspaper, magazines, junk mail, and phone books.
These programs offered by St. Joseph County and the County Solid Waste Committee.
